Believing that education is truly the “great equalizer” in society, Kevin was drawn to PEFNC as a way to support increased access to quality educational opportunities for working-class families. Since college, he gained experience through working on state and local campaigns, but it was his passion for education reform that led him to pursue a career in this field.
Private sector trained, Kevin graduated with a marketing degree from Winston-Salem State University, and a Master’s degree in public administration/public policy from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Kevin joined PEFNC in October 2011 as an Outreach Consultant and now utilizes his skills and experience as the Regional Outreach Director. His outreach focus consists of all North Carolina counties from the Triangle to the coast. He works to establish partnerships with private schools that serve students from working class families to advocate for more affordable private school options for their children. He is also responsible for educating private school leaders about the benefits of parental school choice and recruiting new member schools for PEFNC’s private school association, North Carolina Schools for Educational Freedom. In addition, Kevin plans informational events to increase awareness of and support for parental school choice legislation across the state.
